I think they are funny. Most if not all of them are meant to be a humorous mirror that reflects the comical instances of petty elitism in the average New Yorker reader's life. It's always good to be able to laugh at yourself.

That's not to say that I consider myself a member of the same social strata that the average New Yorker reader occupies, but I can appreciate most of the cartoons and articles in that magazine all the same.
