I am watching re-run of the Season Premiere as we speak, this is quite a good show. I'm a sucker for anyting having to do with Roman History so this is right up my alley (good week for this stuff as the extended edition of Gladiator was released not long ago either) anyway, what does everyone else think of this show?

i thought it was okay, but nothing too great. I'll keep watching for a while to give it a chance though.

I'm a sucker for it too, studied a lot of it in school.
I watched the show, and I thought it wasn't as great as I thought it was going to be--But not bad. I'm hoping it will get better. I thought they spent too much time dramatizing/fictionalizing actual historical figures, when they could use those events as more of a backdrop to new characters (like the two soldiers).
The sets/costumes are great.

I also noticed the extended edition of gladiator in the store the other day, that's pretty cool!

I'd rather have Carnivale back.

It didn't hold my interest until I saw a bull get slaughtered and the blood rain down on some woman. That was good tv.

Yeah it was, or the crucifying of some dudes to find where Ceasar's eagle was (not as intense as Passion of the Christ's, but still quite intense).

Octavius is a little bitch :P

I'm typically a fan of hard-core fuck scenes, so I immediately embraced this show. That, and the fact I lived in Rome for a year and love the history. I'm really digging it.

Best show I've ever seen. Yes, ever. Not only entertaining as hell, but it gave me more to think about than any other show I can remember.

Wait til you get to the eleventh episode. THIRTEEN!!!!

I'm going to go kill a cornfield in hopes of reviving it. The Usher was my favorite TV villian for like 2 years.

But Rome is cool, it grows on you. After like 4-5 eps they really figured out what they were doing with it and it got progressively better.

If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and check out Deadwood, it's the only show on TV right now better than Rome.
