it is by far - one of the SICKEST films i have ever seen in my life!!! very unredeemable characters - horrible behaviors - scary, scary shite. that said - it was still mesmerizing to watch...kind of like a bad train wreck that you just can't take your eyes off of - you stare, transfixed at the carnage.

Great film. The scene previously mentioned with the kid and his Dad is definitely one of the most powerful scenes I have ever seen in any movie. Great ending, too. Would love to watch it with someone who is really conservative.
If you like Happiness you should check out Welcome to the Dollhouse, another Todd Solondz film. A very different film, but worth watching.
He also directed Storytelling, which I didn't thnk was all that great.
The only movie that scarred me more than Meet the Feebles. A friend showed me this film about three years ago, and I've seen it thrice since. Of course, the end result is that I hate all people and can only be arroused by physical torture, but was it worth it?

No. No it wasn't.
Meet the Feebles messed you up too? It really got me the first time I saw it and I've tried to return the favor to others many times, but often I've found people just find it funny. Which it is funny, but it's pretty fucked up too.

My best friend watched it, and that's what he more or less said about it. He got it from Netflix, which I don't have, but none of the local video stores stock it.

i used to work in a crappy independant movie theater in high school when this came out. i thought it was great. just about 5 months ago i tried thinking of what the name of it was and finally remembered. you can buy it on bestbuy.com : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... t&id=28997
anyone ever see phillip seymour hoffman in "Owning Mahowny".... i thought it was great. but then again any movie with gambling i usually like. he just plays the perfect role of a loser.
