i think there's already a thread, but yeah...i don't see how they can make this book into an interesting movie. i mean, i liked the book fine, but the way the story is...it's no fight club, yanno? there's nothing really "happening".

hmm. i may go see this tomorrow then. i'm not expecting much, but who knows.
You're going to give 90 minutes of your life and some of your money to a movie you don't expect much from? That shows that you value your life as much as people who watch Bee Movie on HBO, just because they happen upon it, even though they've already seen it twice.

well, a few people i've talked to have said it was decent, so i'll check it out. i liked the book as i said earlier in this thread, but i don't know how a movie adaptation will work out, so im not expecting it to be the next fight club. there isn't a whole lot "happening" in choke as opposed to fight club, but i have some time to kill tomorrow so i'm going to go see it possibly. i haven't been to the movies in ages.

Aw what the fuck. You don't happen to have 90 minutes to spend in order to judge by yourself ? And you think it shows what about how much he values his life ? What the fuck dude.

just got back from seeing this. i know it won't win any awards and it wasn't some masterpiece nor will it become a cult classic a la fight club, but it is a movie i needed to see at this point in my life. i've got some issues to work out with myself and in an odd way this film has given me hope. instead of cutting myself off from relationships and not getting involved emotionally i need to find some way to do that and to open up.
anyway, enough about me, the acting in the movie was very superb and realistic. every character was acted out in a believable way. there aren't a whole lot of "funny" moments in the movie, but there aren't really supposed to be. the movie took up just the right amount of time and didn't drag on at all.
it had been about two or three years since i read the book and i remembered all kinds of bits and pieces such as the anal bead getting stuck and whatnot...but i totally forgot the paige was a patient at the hospital, so that came as a big shock to me
decent flick

Read the book a couple of months ago and wasn't that big of a fan of it. It was alright but I never felt it necessary to keep on reading it. I basically finished it cause there was nothing else to read at the time. A bit curious about the movie though. I love Sam Rockwell so that helps a lot. I wish i still got bootlegs from my buddy so i could pay the $5 and just watch it at home.
this was by far the least favorite of the palahniuk stuff i've read, i can't imagine it being a good movie.
