Does anyone remember this cartoon, and does anybody like it? My missus ain't a geek at all, but she always loved this show, and a mate got her the whole series in a boxed set on DVD for Christmas. She's loving it, after not having seen it for God-knows-how-long.

Any other fans 'round here?

That show was the shizzle when I was a kid. I hear Toby Macguire (a big fan i gather) owns the rights and plans to make a live action flick wherein he will play the part of Rick Hunter.

Is 'shizzle' good or bad?

This is actually an edited version of a show called Macross with a few other bits of different anime series thrown in.

Shizzle means good in this instance.

The missus' boxed set has the lot-I think it's 3 series in all. I actually find it hard to follow. The plot stars off quite simply, but a few episodes in series 1 there seems to be characters everywhere, and it's hard for me to keep track of who's who. It even puts the Wire to shame! I tried watching it with the missus, but I think it's gonna have to be a solo endeavour for her.

I don't think I've watched it since like 1985 so it's mostly fuzzy memories for me at this point.

Loved it when I was a kid. The second series was the weakest.

Voltron with the lions was better.

ive only seen the first and second, and while the second wasnt as good as the first, i thought it was pretty solid. i liked the vehicles a bit more and they didnt rip off the jetfire design as much :)
