Anybody else a fan? I've watched several of his movies over the past year or two, and I can't get enough of them. Gotta be one of my top 10 directors.

House of Flying Daggers
Raise the Red Lantern
Hero
The Story of Qiu Ju
To Live

All brilliant, beautiful films.

Still gotta see Ju Dou, Curse of the Golden Flower, Not One Less, and Shanghai Triad.

I first saw Raise The Red Lantern in a class in college, and then my wife and I watched it in the hospital when she was in labor with our first son. We also watched A Mighty Wind. True story.

Anyway, really good film. Not very often that I would say that about a movie I had to watch for a class, much less choose to watch again of my own volition.
