Sure I'm probably asking for a world of trouble here but... fuck it
Back in my early 20's I was really into this hobby of amateur editing, particularly mixing together scenes from popular action movies with hard rock songs, and keeping in some of the movie one-liners. All done with the magic of the best resources available to a part time working suburban kid in the mid-90's: 2 VCRs and a 4 channel audio mixing board from Radio Shack. My biggest single project was a Christmas gift for my best friend in 1996, she asked specifically for this as she's a big action fan, and she knew I'd have fun making it. So I did it in 5 parts, different songs with each, using other certain movie clips as buffers (these originally all played consecutively on 1 VHS tape).
I thought what the hell, I'd post up what I did here for anyone who'd be curious to take a look if you're into that kinda thing, and/or just another reason to ridicule me You will most definitely see some edits here that are less than beautiful, again, I just ask you remember what hardware I was working with. Plus, some movies, depending on the studio from which they came, would copy better/easier than others, due to copy protection.
(see the key here is I got a "Dazzle" for Christmas [incidentally from the same friend I originally made these for] it's a gizmo that allows you to transfer VHS footage into your computer and edit it, output to DVD, online or whatever)
I also did an elaborate montage of the original STAR WARS trilogy, not using rock songs but an extended edited version of the theme music, that was for another friend's birthday back at the time who's a huge fan, the Jedi one got removed but the first 2 movies are still up, if anyone's interested.
