pretty disappointed with this season so far. I keep thinking "ok, this is the episode where things pick up" and it hasn't happened yet.

exactly. it was pretty annoying last season, but this one is enjoyable so far. I am interested in seeing what happens with this lumen situation.

ya, in the book they were both kinda psyco and crazy like dexter, but I think they are going that direction with harrison. Then again, dexter has a baby girl in the books instead of a boy. I know the books are nowhere near the same as the books, but its interesting to see the parallels.

I think the misconception with Quinn is he suppose to be a bad guy, but he really isn't much of one. He isn't much of anything but talk. What's more important is that it seems dexter has lost his code. Very heartbreaking premiere.

Quinn is clearly out for blood now, but I think it could be possible that dexter saves him from being killed, thus quinn knows he is crazy or something, but not bad. i think they went that route with doaks in the books.

I can't tell if I like Lumen, or if she annoys the shit out of me. she just does such stupid shit, and then the writers will be like 'oh wait she was actually right about her irrational behavior, gotcha' The scene where she was in the airport was intense as hell though.

I know what you mean. I kinda just don't like Julia Stiles. I can understand both of their perspectives. I wasn't surprised when she turned out to be right. I'm more curious whether dexter remembered to grab her phone after he killed that guy so he can now use it to maybe track down the next guy. And did dexter kill that one guy wrapped in plastic or was he just unconscious and now dexter is going to let the guy take the fall for killing the rapist. And another thing the latest guy was a pediatrician and the one before that cleaned up roadkill. I wouldn't normally expect those two to be connected in some kind of torture/rape/murder club so it must have a pretty far reach. I'm sure it will all come together but sometimes I wish more of the main storylines were elaborated more on and they just left out stupid shit like the bautista and laguerta marriage problem nonsense. That kills the show.

It could certainly start that way, but one thing no one has actually taken into consideration is the fact that no one knows that trinity actually killed Rita on his own. He had more than one set of children so there is no reason he doesnt have more crazy psycos running around. anyway my point being, once they find out that it wasn't dexter for sure, quinn may simply back off. just a theory. I also see captain mathews and deb getting on his ass for going after dexter right after his wife was murdered.

but they are going to find out about kyle butler and aren't they going to wonder why Trinity would go after Rita? And Dexter still has dirt on quinn. He may have to kill quinn. Bautista and what's her face (bautista's new wife) like dexter too much to let them dig to deep into him.

exactly, he put up such a successful front that it may be too hard for anyone to have a critical eye. I think the fact that batista and laguerta got married at the end of last season/that may get them in trouble, thus they may not have any power over it. if the writers have any sense they will do something interesting with that, because that shit was cheesy.

I won't speculate on the kyle butler thing, I just want to see how it plays out. I do think someone tied to the trinity killer and not the actual trinity killer, killed rita.

I doubt they would introduce any intirely new character who killed Rita. the writers are too good to be so lazy as to just introduce someone new to blame. So who? can't be arthur mitchell's son because he hated his father although in that thanksgiving episode he literally called his father "a murderer" whether he meant that metaphorically is yet to be seen. Arthur Mitchell's wife was just a scared housewife (maybe) and his creepy daughter that wanted to fuck dexter well who knows? So who's left that could have known that Dexter knew who trinity was? Christine or whatever might have known but she blew her own head off. SO lets think who could it be besides Trinity and how could dexter explain why he would target him and deter from his typical pattern

I dunno. I know it sounds really cheesy, but I think the neighbor that hit on Rita might be involved. In any case he was a creep I hope dexter whacks him regardless.

that thought had crossed my mind but I wanted to give the writers more credit than to do something so disjointed as to try and tie that guy into the story more. Not enough of a foundation for that. I could see that happening on a show like true blood or something but hopefully not dexter

Nobody else would know to kill her by cutting the artery in her leg in a bathtub. Think folks.

the problem is we are over thinking it

Well, Dexter can say that Arthur went to police HQ to ruin the life of someone of that place since the investigation was getting to close to him.

maybe. just hope that confrontation isn't saved on tape somewhere for Quinn or someone else to find.

Also, that neighbor guy could come back into the storyline soon. If Dexter has Lumen staying at his old place where Rita was murdered that nosey fuck is still right next door. He sees Lumen over there and gets curious and starts to think maybe it is someone Dexter is fucking and has been fucking for a long time. He still has Quinn's info and gives him a call after getting suspicious. All kinds of scenarios can come up now that Lumen is in the picture and staying at his old house. If they do any forensics they are gonna know that the guy wrapped in plastic never fired a gun so he couldn't of shot the guy tied up. Lumen is in a frantic state so I'm sure she left some kind of evidence of her presence behind at the scene or on that guys clothes. Dexter knows what he is doing and what cops look for and how to fool them. Lumen has no clue and surely fucked up somewhere. Just soo many loose ends.

It annoys me a little bit how often the Dexter narration pops up. The show is well made enough that we don't really need the Dexter-narrator to articulate how similar Lumen is becoming to Dexter or a lot of other things that are subtly present in the actual action/dialogue of the show.

If there's one thing that's subtle, it's not Dexter. They must think the audience is stupid, because they've been doing that handholding since day one. Still a great show, but yeah, we get stuff, dudes.

Dexter is a very internal person, so I think its reflective of that.
