I just didn't find this movie that new or exciting. It was a hodgepodge of lazy christian mythology subtext and basic sci-fi action. The sequence where the two "scientists" are killed was so stupid that the wife and I just laughed. The score was way over the top. David was a good character, but was done better in other movies. Some of the set designs were unoriginal and I can't decide if that was done intentionally to connect this movie to the "Alien" movies or not.
I did like Noomi Rapace's performance, however.

So I went in to this not sure if this was an Alien prequel or not. The way too obvious last scene ruined everything if you ask me. The only thing I got out of this stupid movie was wanting to know more about the Engineers.

yeah that last scene wasn´t helpful..its like they didnt know what to do with the alien itself so they added at the end in a really stupid way.
Still had a lot of fun with the movie and im looking forward to see the sequel.

As long as the sequel is about the chick going to the Engineers home planet, I'm in. If it is about connecting Promethius to the first Alien even more then that will just be stupid.

seems to be going in that direction..about them going to their planet and finding its an awful place, something like that and the whole "jesus was an alien" thing is going to be explained with the alien connection gone.

I just want them to fill the plot holes in the first movie, explain what's missing. Then I'll still be on board.

That would take at least 2 sequels.

I agree. It's theoretically possible to push forward with the next two movies while answering those questions, though. Granted it shouldn't be necessary, but I'm not ruling it out yet.

One question; If the planet they went to was a military outpost for making a WMD as they stated in the movie, then why did the Engineers leave 'maps' all over Earth for humans to find them?

Was it the Engineers that left the maps or the proto-humans?

I thought the connection with Alien was pretty obvious once they were inside the command room of the ship. That last scene was dumb, and probably added in after test screenings to make it more obvious for the casual viewer and ease marketing tie-ins.

saw this like day 3 and it never grabbed me.

chick is not hot and covered my eyes when she was almost naked

didn't care about blondie and her dad

didn't feel the religious quest

i dont care that fasbender watched movies on how to get into character. his performance was weak

the movie had no in for me to get involved. just dead ends. hated this hyped peice of shit.
