Ok, so I started it a little early. But I'm excited about this episode. It should be a good one. I'm waiting to see what happens with Tony.

Is it just me or is this the best season of 24 yet?

It's certainly better than last season. The Terror Family is definitely an interesting storyline, but I just don't care much about the threat this year like I did in seasons 1 & 2. The whole nuclear meltdown via the internet just seems unrealistic to me. It's been a while since I watched Season 1, but it seems like they were much more true to the 'real time' aspect of the show when they first started.

But it's been pretty good so far, and I'm interested to see where it will go, knowing that Palmer will be back as well.

I think season 2 was certainly the best. Season one was great until Denis Hopper came with that HORRIBLE accent and the whole plot went downhill with him. (Granted, season 2 had Kim and the mountain lion, but still...)

I think Tony coming back is one of the best twists the show has ever had. This season is desperatly in need of good characters other than Jack, and Tony is just that.

Great episode!

I'm glad that they caught mary-ann finally. Was she just knocked out from the explosion or was she killed? I thought I saw her head hit that car, but I wasn't absolutely sure if it was her.

Sucks about that guy getting shot at the end. Now they are kind of stuck, but hopefully they can find something in his case or mary-ann can tell them something.

Not much was told in the previews for next week.

I'm thinking 24 and Flava Sava will track down the sniper... That's how the car gets hit. I'm also thinking that Mary-Ann will be unconcious for the entire hour, and the other chick will be out for about two hours. That will mean that Michelle will come from Division to help and assist. Jack and Tony will come back to CTU.... and you know where I'm going.

terrorists - 1.
Any terrorists that the terrorists kill don't count as kills. PC, got any input on this?

They have completely abandonded the real time aspect of the show. It happened when Season 3 started, which is why you no longer see the "Events Occur In Real Time" title after "The Following Takes Place..." any more.

And for the record (this isn't directed at you, Owen) it's BEHROOZ.

My favorite part of the episode this week was when 24 told Heller not to let anyone know he was talking to him and Heller did the "OKAY, MARCY WHO I AM CURRENTLY TALKING ON MY PHONE WITH, I CAN DO THAT FOR YOU. EVERYONE ELSE IN THE ROOM, I HOPE YOU DON'T SUSPECT I AM TALKING TO ANYONE OTHER THAN MARCY!" What's really sad is that everyone else in the room TOTALLY fell for one of the oldest (and lamest) tricks in the book. Heller = smarter than most CTU agents.

And if Edgar had been smarter, he could have just told Marianne that he thought she was really hot and that's why he was constantly looking at her. "I am tho thoatally atwacted to you, Mawianne. Letsh have thome thex!" That would have sent her screaming to the ladies room.

And when Tony went in to yell at Jen for talking on the phone, I was totally waiting for him to open the door shoot her, like William H. Macy did in Boogie Nights.

How great would it have been for one of the teams to score a goal while 24 was on the phone with DOD and the announcer would have been all "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!" and Tony would have jumped up and celebrated, screaming shit like "WHOSE HOUSE IS THIS?" or "THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" in Spanish? And then 24 would do the snap-point thing that every mother does when she's on the phone and her kids are misbehaving, ending with him loudly whispering "I'M ON THE PHONE!"

It would have been even cooler if Tony had been drinking tequila out of the coffee mug and got really drunk before he went back into the field with 24 and horked all over Powell when he got him out of the helicopter.

Powell: I can make it worth it.

Tony: Blllaaraarrrrrrgh.

24: DAMMIT! DAMMIT!

Powell: My suit!

And then the sniper kills him.

And what was with Behrooz' BRILLIANT use of subterfuge to get his mother to the car? I'm talking about the bit where he stops in the parking lot and covers up her bloody, wounded arm with a bloody shirt sleeve that had a HUGE gaping hole in it? No wonder Navi wants him dead.

they only tell you that 'events occur in real time' before the first episode of the season.

They used to say "events occur in real time before every episode." Check the DVDs.

Those words have not been uttered once this season. I know this because like a fool, I say both the above and "The Following Takes Place..." before every episode in my best 24 impression.

i didn't like the sniper killing that guy, that's something they do too much of on the show and it didn't make sense anyway. if they wanted the guy to die the sniper would have shot him before he got on the helicopter, if they didn't the sniper could have picked off jack and tony and let the helicopter go to its destination.

the sniper was just the assurance that CTU didnt get the guy... very similar to the exploding car... "you are taken care of and you know that"

yeah but the sniper could have taken out jack and tony before they got him and then the guy wouldn't have had to be killed (unless maybe they were always going to kill him anyway)
