The best part of this movie is the soundtrack. A movie about a bunch of corporate, suburban, computer-geek white guys with nothing but gangsta rap on the soundtrack!
Not the best movie ever, of course...but a damned great one!

we share the opinion. i have long thought jaws is the best movie ever. the characters are so strong in that movie.
office space is great, but you're right, it's not in that best movie ever category. it's a step below. and that's not to discredit it at all.

Here's what I learned today from watching the retrospective on the the Special Edition DVD with Flair.
There was no such thing as a red Swingline stapler. They actually painted 4 of them for the movie. Then people started calling Swingline to order them, and some knock-off started selling on e-bay. So, Swingline started making red staplers, and it's their top selling model.
I have a maroon swingline stapler.

The finest moments in this movie are absolutely top notch. The packaging in between is often workmanlike.
I will say that I have to rewatch it, now that I'm 5 months into my first cubicle job ever. I never really understood how little actual work gets done and how ridiculous the hierarchical designs are in those environments, before.
