I actually love Davis as a character. He shows an unbridled, and truly legitimate passion for his city, and the music of that city.
Fuck the davis haters.
i agree, but i still find him to be a bit of a clown/fool (which is fine, i've always been interested in that archetype). simon kind of turns the fool archetype on its head, and makes it contemporary and more human. davis is a great character.

Don't bother. It's not all bad, but it's not particularly good either. If you must watch TV, there are better things. Try out Justified. First season is kinda redneck-criminal-of-the-week then once the plot settles, it gets pretty good.

The first time I heard the Big Chief cough this season, I knew it was bad news. I'm pretty sire they're doing a season four, but I don't think St. Lester is going to be there.
I'm enjoying this season so far, but I am basically done with Davis at this point. I like following Antoine's antics, I think Tony's storyline is going to heat up, and watching Chief go down is going to be brutal, but good drama. But Davis writing an opera? I feel like it's just an excuse for more walk-ons by NOLA legends. Still waiting for a complication in Sunny's story.

I think this has been really good so far this season, shaping up to be the best season. It is definetely coming back for a 4th and final season, but it's supposed to be a shortened season, I think 8 episodes.
