Damn, that makes me want to move back down there. I'm not sure if getting HBO is going to make me feel a little better or increase the guilt quite a bit.

heard it wasnt that great, whats the consensus here?
It's been getting good reviews (and some negative ones about the pacing), I don't know personally since I don't have HBO (got to wait for the dvd )
Salon : Treme' epitomizes the sort of great storytelling we all thirst for on TV but rarely find."
The New Yorker: ...it may be the bravest show that David Simon has ever made.
Entertainment Weekly : 'Treme' explodes with pleasure.
The Baltimore Sun : I'm not saying "Treme" is necessarily in a league with "The Sopranos," "The Civil War" or even "Homicide" at its best. But the pilot moved me as those productions did -- and in the world of television, that is something special."
Chicago Sun Times : But as a series, 'Treme' is a tough slog.
NPR : 'Treme,' from the start, is like one of those haunting pieces of jazz from the French Quarter. Get one taste, and you're not likely to forget it."
Boston Herald : "Unlike 'The Wire,' the pacing is lazy.
The Washington Post :Three episodes in, I'm willing to say 'Treme' (the title is two syllables; it rhymes with away) has the potential to be better than 'The Wire.'

i will watch this today. However, my wife is from new orleans and i am debating if i want to watch it first without her, before i watch it with her. She has a habit of explaining everything new orleans, or bitching about things that seem wrong. She even did this during the 60 second trailer.
