the first few sonic games compare very favorably to the first few mario games.

Nope I had a Mega Drive/Genesis and then converted to N64.
And then I "outgrew" videogames.

Unfortunately, it's so elementary, and the big time investors behind the drive in the stock market aren't so stupid. This isn't the false economy of 2000.

what did you do with it?
bond, how many video game systems do you own?
my mom did this really irritating thing when i was growing up... if my brother and i neglected anything we had (video games included) for 6-9 months, she'd assume we were done forever then donate them to charity, so i don't have any of the older systems (bitch). i have ps2, ps3, wii, 360

yea pretty much the same deal with me. i don't really mind no longer having the atari (which i barely even remember having) nes and snes, though. there are emulators out there for these everywhere that you can use on computers and consoles, so i can still play pretty much any game from those eras. cartridges sucked anyway. an n64 would be the only cartridge based system worth owning, if you ask me. and even that has some limited appeal (mario, zelda, goldeneye perfect dark...not much after that).
a saturn would have definitely been a pretty sweet thing to hold onto, though. fortunately, physically owning a ps1 is now completely useless.
i can't believe you have all of the 256 bit (is that accurate?) systems. that's some wild shit. how many others have you owned at some point? right now, i just chill with ps2, dreamcast and 360.
