Outside of the terrible acting I'm enjoying this quite a bit. I haven't heard/read anything about the comics so it's all new to me.

Yeah, the acting is pretty weak with some characters. I was really surprised they left Dixon on the roof. I know the key went down the hole, but I thought they might still try and get him out. Hopefully the bigot gets eaten.

Notice how when the brother turned around on the catwalk to free him, he accidentally knocked over a bag full of tools? I think they put that in there purposely so the redneck will get free.

that entire disguise sequence was great and has me excited for where this could go.

I was not pleased with the introduction of a half dozen one-dimensional characters, but the suspense was still there so I'll keep watching.

In the comic, there was no tank - Rick got semi-surrounded when he heard Glen call to him from the alley, and they basically outran the horde to get back to the camp. Glen was the only one in the city to do scavenging - no rooftop, no racist, no other scavengers, no Dodge Challenger (I highly doubt that you can start a car made in the late 2000s with a screwdriver!), no construction site, no panel truck, no sewers.

That said, I was okay with the liberties they took.

One other difference from the comic - a major difference, IMHO - was that Rick's wife and his partner weren't romantically involved. She'd had a moment of weakness as they were on the way to Atlanta and slept with him, but felt guilty about it and spurned his advances after that. He kept up the pursuit of her, but she persistently said no. I don't know if that difference will result in the Rick/wife/partner relationship having a different dynamic than it did in the comics or not. I'm interested to see if they bring the comic storyline for that relationship in or if they take it a different direction.

I did like this week's episode, though. It seems like the main actors are doing a good job of it - I noticed the zombie extras seemed to phoning it in sometimes, though, but I guess that's what you get with extras.

It's also good that Robert Kirkman is producer of this to let the liberties flow this way.

I thought this too. I mean they just left Rick in the hospital. They must have had some inclination that he might somehow still be alive and if she isn't looking for him she would still be holding out hope. But...in real life she probably would end up fucking his partner/best friend. That shit happens all the time.

Also, going back to Rick waking up in the hospital like in 28 days later. If the walkers can tell the difference in smell from a live person and one of them, if one would have gotten into the hospital and found him it would have eaten the shit out of him. I guess I'm just over thinking it but I can't help it

in that scene where it starts to rain and the smells starts to wear off and all hell breaks loose. why not have someone on the roof with the rifle? just seems logical to me. seriously, if the world goes to shit, and its all zombies, you want me on your side.
