i dunno, maybe its just me, but i think they use lex as the villian too much to humanize superman, even though hes not human.

bring in a fellow like mentallo who does lex's bidding, or have lex wear the battle suit

"Truth, Justice and the American Way, it's not enough anymore."

While this is really about a storyline in the comics, I feel it belongs in this thread. Mostly, because it's not worth its own thread, but also because this seems to stink of marketing ploy. Interesting that right around the time they are trying to revamp/reboot a popular character who seems to lack a certain international appeal, they decide to have Superman renounce his citizenship.

Bold move or gimmicky bullshit?

And how/will this tie into the new film?

Wow, comic book art has really gone downhill.

I'm not familiar enough with the overall Superman canon to know -- does the fact that Zod being a character in this new film definitely mean the two other male & female characters that were in Donner's Superman 2 will be in this one as well? Like do those three always go together?

The other two characters were created for Superman II, then introduced into the comics years later. But, I think the female character was based on the Faora character that's going to be in this new movie.

That doesn't look like Superman. It looks like Superman's evil bizarro nemesis.
