i can't either.
the last one was a huge let down.
I'm probably one of the few that liked the last one but I did think they shouldn't have tried to imitate the other films. I still enjoyed it but it didn't try to have its own identity. I think this film will try to have its own take on the story which is how it should be.
I hope they start rebooting and creating the other DC characters into movies so they we can get a good Justice League movie that is planned out in advance. Hopefully they learn from the model of the Avengers and their films. But a DC universe could have a totally different take, be more realistic (as a comic book movie can be), and more serious. I'd love to see different takes on The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Robin/Nightwing, Green Arrow, The Atom, and even reboot Batman quickly to flow into a new Justice League storyline.

i don't mean this as a hostile question. I used to be a big comics reader (mostly marvel). I love batman. Why should I care about superman? He always struck me as an incredibly uninteresting character. I didn't even know this movie was happening until it came up tangentially in dark knight rises press. Should I be excited for this?

As long as he's facing a threat that can "realistically" challenge him there is no reason it can't be a good movie. Supposedly he's going against Gen. Zod which is good.

He is. Played by the great Michael Shannon.
Though Shannon nor Snyder will actually say "Zod." They keep calling him by code/buzz word names, like "that guy."

In short, no.
These guys need to earn excitement. Michael Shannon's involvement is the only thing to get even a semi about.
Haven't seen/read/heard anything that's got me thinking this is going to be anything other than par for the course - oh wait! This one's brooding! So... there's that.

The best thing about that trailer? The Thin Red Line music score and the Malick-esque imagery at the beginning. Hell yeah!
the whole thing was ripping off nolan's batman trailers.
Well, Nolan is overseeing this project. And anyway, it's not like he has anything to do with making those trailers. It's the same marketing department for both movies.

The Nolans are involved. That's also something to look forward to.
I dunno, I think this might be good. I'm going to give it a chance.
I don't mean to imply that I couldn't get excited for it. I'm just not automatically excited for it. Other than Shannon, there's nothing hooking me. Unlike, say, Spider-Man, where the cast and director had me intrigued (and fairly excited) for a good while.
I need to see some footage, trailers, etc, before I can get excited. But I'm not writing if off entirely, either. I think this could be good. And I hope it is. I don't like rooting for things to fail. But I have my reservations, even with Nolan's "involvement."
