Nothing hugely exciting to look at specifically, but I believe this is the first official on set look of Garfield and Stone working.

Still think she looks way better as a brunette or even redhead.

And, as much as I think Garfield rocked in Social Network and that he's likely a fountain of talent waiting to fully blow, I just don't get a Peter Parker vibe off him, in some way I can't quite articulate he doesn't seem all that right for this particular part.

Maybe I'm seeing what I want to see, but is there a glint of a synthetic webshooter on the underside of his left wrist?

I think I heard that's the way this Spiderman will shoot his webbing. Ala classic Peter Parker invention, ala Spiderman Noir. I could be wrong though

You are correct.

Saw the sketches/storyboards of the suit about a month ago...it all looks really good.

Guys, let's redo this franchise. Any ideas?

'The red and blue should be darker.'

i dont think it means edgier or more mature. throught out the comics there have been different colorists that have left their mark (sadly, i only recall artists) but some have used darker primary colors and its looked good. i think the darkness may be a result of the lighting there in that scene than anything

Nah, that suit is definitely darker. There is also a stylistic suit update, texture, pattern, shapes, like Batman's. Someone decided the suit wasn't 'cool' enough and redesigned it. It's to tone down the camp and make the character seeming darker, more edgy, thus more palatable to modern audiences. Superman had the same treatment: colours darkened, suit a bit slicker etc.

PS. This treatment happens in comics too, you're right. Look at The Ultimates. The characters weren't dark and edgy enough so they were redesigned.

harm, from people i have talked to (strictly tv news) red and bright colors are frowned upon because they really go bad on tv. i think this is why everything is a darker/muted version of the colors, like the cap costume, thor cape etc...
