I just don't hear DDL managing a shrill, squeaking speaking voice.

It's daniel..he's gonna get into it, live and breathe more than any other actor possibly could. I do hope however he doesn't do the 'i'm shouting to the point of aneurysm so you know that i'm a really good actor' bit. That's been played out. Hopefully there's room for some subtlety here.

i wonder how he will play it. they say Lincoln actually had a high pitched, raspy voice and thick Kentucky accent.

funny that Lewis just played the Lincoln hating Bill the Butcher.

but my ass will be in the seat for this.

I do hope they get the voice right...or at least move it more in that direction and away from that whole "Abe as deep voiced, slow-talking stone-faced philosopher" thing. Actually, on that note, I hope the include a lot of his humor, too. I could make a list, but among the usually-ignored stuff I'd like to see referenced are his efforts to increase a president's wartime powers and the jailing of journalists who criticized the war efforts too loudly.

I wonder if they will go the whole "best friend and lover was a dude" route.

Hey it's work.

pretty much sums up his career once you get past the Bull Durhams, Field of Dreams and JFKs.

Why would they want to be historically inaccurate?

Ya know how the handful of times over the years when two competing projects of similar plot/theme are going on at the same time in Hollywood? like the latest one seeming to be the dueling Snow White updates.

well I wonder what will eventually be the time gap in between this and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter :haha:
