A good, but maybe not a great pilot. I'll check out the next episode, but if Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, Walking Dead, and Breaking Bad were all on at this time I have a feeling I would fall behind. The moments that it tries to be sort of transcendent and metaphorical and blah blah seem to fall a little flat each time. It's also a little too nicey-nicey when I think the story would be better suited if it was a little meaner and a little darker. It seems like it could be a very good show, but it might be just a little off in trying to find the perfect tone.

Buddy of mine wrote for this show for the first season. He's now moved on to Shameless. I still haven't watched the show. But he's a damn fine writer. I stand by his work.
I'm still watching but it's only mildly interesting. It's hard to want to support this show after they axed Terriers. The two shows aren't on the same level. If this show gets a second season after Terriers got killed it's just salt in the wound. Oh well.

I bailed on this show, I missed last weeks episode and with the Bruins playing a west coast game tuesday night I wont be watching this week either. I wanted to like this show, and I thought it had potential, but the lead actor wasnt pulling off the part to me and the father was the only likable character on the show. Leary's wife is about as off putting as a character can be, and not in the good way where you love to hate a compelling character.

OK, I don't watch a lot of real boxing, but I'm still pretty sure that the Leary-Morales fight at the end of Ep. 7 was the worst/least realistic boxing match ever in any movie or TV show ever. ever. It was really silly-looking.
