There's not a whole lot to that trailer, but there are some great images, and Chris Nolan is one of the few directors I trust to make a good movie. I'm definitely looking forward to this one.
Why on earth would Nolan want to waste time with another Batman movie if he can crank out stuff like this?
1.) I agree completely. The Batman fan boys need to shut up because they're annoying.
2.) I am a little underwhelmed with the second trailer when compared to the teaser. But it will do.
There are so few directors out there willing to take on new ideas and apparently this is a completely original story. No novel, no short film, all new. "New" is what's being missing from big budget movies for a long time.

And I respect Nolan because of his originality (involved with his brother).
I think the part that bothers me is Ellen Page, who in the trailer reminds me of Dakota Fanning and her involvement with the recent film Push, and the trailer makes me think of Push and for some reason Fantastic Four. But I know, i know, I'm sure it will be good, because it's Nolan.

Well the combination of both trailers did pretty much what a trailer should do (or at the very least a 'teaser' trailer): if you're lucky, give you a bit of an idea of the whole visual tone, but really just be interesting and compelling enough to peak your interest but without actually giving you any specific info on the story itself. We all know well enough that this has not been the case for about 97% of trailers for the last god knows how many years now.
And speaking of his brother Jonathon, have any of you ever read the original short story by Jonathon off of which MEMENTO is based? The oscar that Christopher won of course was the Best Adapted Screenplay, but it could've very well been the Best Original, because truly the entire story itself came from Chris. All the short story is (I believe it's called "Memento Mori") it establishes the character of Leonard and that he has this memory condition from a past injury, it's basically a day-in-the-life, it gives a simple outline of the machinations and how difficult they are for Leonard to get thru an average day with the problem. There's nothing in there of any of the plot of the movie, that was entirely original.

It looks like an awesome movie, and apparently working on it inspired Nolan to come up with a third Batman movie....I haven't even seen it yet, and I already love it.

Yea, and he's being brought in to "godfather" the Superman franchise (I'm not sure if that was already reported in another thread). Won't be directed, I suppose he'll essentially be a very hands on Exec Prod.

The annual Showest event went down last week and Nolan was on hand to present some stuff about the flick. We get our first real indication as to what the plot is.
Quote:
After all the estrogen left the stage, we got a first look at Inception with an awesome intro by writer/director Christopher Nolan. He talked about how his movies are meant to be seen in movie theaters and how he was happy to be premiering some of the movie to the theater owners in attendance. He talked about how they went to six different countries to film the movie and that’s why you should see it in a theater.
While the trailer has kept the story under wraps, the footage today pulled part of the curtain back. I now know what the movie is about. If you want to stay spoiler free…move along.
From what I could tell, Leonardo DiCaprio plays someone who can go into your dreams and extract info. He can also protect you from people who do the same thing. He works with a team of people and the footage looked amazing. In the trailer DiCaprio says:
“In your dream state, your consciousness defenses lower. It makes your thoughts vulnerable to theft, called extraction. So you can actually train your subconscious to defend itself from the most skilled extractor.” Ken Watanabe then asks DiCaprio how he knows about this. He replies, “because I am the best extractor.” Cut to shots from all around the world and the rest of the cast like Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard and Cillian Murphy.
That’s why in the trailer you see some crazy stuff as it all takes place in the mind. Of course some of the film takes place in the real world, but from what I could tell, there might be moments where you don’t know what world you’re in. Also, there was a scene where someone told someone to dream bigger about a gun as he pulled out a massive weapon. Cannot wait for this one.
Also, I spoke to Nolan today, expect the interview soon. Again, the movie looks like nothing you have ever seen…which is why we all go to the movies in the first place.
