I am very pleased so far. I do hope they vary the pacing a bit, I'm not a fan of the "slow and heavy emoting with a surprise twist right at the end" format. Pairing this with Game Thrones could make a solid night of TV, something that hasn't happened in years.

I agree. I have a feeling if they don't the middle of the season is going to drag a lot.

this is a great show so far after 3 episodes. is this going to be a 1 season show?
It'll be interesting to see how long they stretch it. I actually think one season isn't a bad idea. But I guess they could do a Dexter kinda thing and have each season focus on a new murder...

From seeing only the pilot, I couldn't help but get a Twin Peaks vibe. But since Twin Peaks is awesome, that makes me want to catch the rest of this show when I have the chance.

The whole Pacific NW thing and the "Who Killed..." in the ads really reminds me of Twin Peaks. But in terms of tone and look, I'm reminded more of The X-Files. Though, The Killing doesn't appear to have any paranormal bend to it.

Cool.
Makes sense. And could work well. How long did the original series run?

But the show is its own. Definitely check it out.
yeah, there's elements of both of those shows with the moodiness and setting which in itself is great, but I agree this one stands on its own. hope the strong writing & acting continues the rest of the way.
