Former RMer Theresa thought that maybe Gellar was like Harry was to Dexter and I agreed with her awhile ago.

It was a decent twist. I'm sure if you went back through the season you could find examples of where it wasn't totally plausible, even in just that last episode. They're sitting in the car together on campus and they both see Gellar walk into the building in front of them. How does that work if Dexter essentially sees him too? I suppose it could be dismissed as mistaken identity, but its still a little shaky.

I don't think Dexter saw him at all. Travis saw him while Dexter was looking at Travis during their conversation.

i think geller's more of a dark passenger manifestation. i suppose you could make an argument that that's what harry is too, but he doesn't tell dexter to kill. he's more of a conscience.

I think the show is pretty much awful at this point.

it's never been that great outside of the dexter character and michael c. hall, but it's addictive.

What else is currently on cable TV that's worth watching over this then?

THe geller
Spoiler: show
sixth sense thing
has been telegraphed for 4 weeks.
Any scene that involves
A.) Anyone but Dexter.
B.) Dexter Voiceovers is awful.

Watching Tony Soprano talk to a shrink was occasionally boring, but at least involved Tony Soprano. Watching Deb talk to a shrink is far less compelling. And how exactly did Dexter find a nanny willing to watch his kid 20 hours a day? Especially one that would be familiar with the hours the homicide unit works.. yet dexter somehow is always at work?Quinn and Batista is absolutely horrific. We get it. Quinn is broken up over Deb. We don't need the "OMG HE BANGED THE FAT OLD LADY" joke. what was the last line of the episode? Something along the Lines of "Ive made a huge mistake." Dexter is not supposed to be a collection of old sitcom lines centered around an increasingly dull lead character.

Just because everything else is shit on TV, doesn't make this any better. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills isn't good just because Its better than New Jersey.

Sons of Anarchy is the best show on TV, better than Breaking Bad imo.

You would have to watch the previous seasons though.

yup. There's a whole slew of shows. I'll still watch Dexter because I'm invested in the character, but the Bautista/Quinn stories are terrible and I've always disliked Deb.

The first 2 series were definately the best for me. Hasn't felt the same since. I kinda want to see dexter get caught. Also Rudy should have been back for more than one episode, a few episodes long mental breakdown for dexter would have been fun.

Picking Harry up on the side of the road was awful. I liked the brother thing in theory, but the execution was kinda lame.

ya, it is a nice twist, but there are so many awkward continuity holes, that they didn't make much of an attempt to patch up. it just feels a little sloppy.

The best part of this entire season was in the senior citizen home when Dexter confessed his crimes to the senile priest and was absolved.
