Okay this general movie thread seemed a good place to ask this: I just came up with a new possible tournament idea, my first one since the TV show characters.
Assembling a team of great movie quotes... would anyone be interested in doing that? And like maybe a rule could be, while it doesn't necessarily have to be only a one line quote, but the max it could be is three lines of dialogue, perhaps even a short exchange between two different characters that's really iconic.
OFFICIAL RULES -Make sure that you click on 'Subscribe to topic' this will let you know if a new post is made in this thread (especially do this when we start up the Draft thread). -First pick will happen on the Monday (following the last person to fill the Sign-Up). -12 Hour Draft Pick Deadline. -Snake Style Draft Order (Rnd 1: 1-16, Rnd 2: 16-1, Rnd 3: 1-16, etc. etc.). -PENALTY - If you miss your designated draft time and go over the deadline, the draft moves on, you'll be able to make-up your "missed" pick whenever, but the following round your draft order spot gets dropped to the bottom of that round. -Draft Format: 1. Quote 2. Character(s) 3. Movie -Any Movie Quote
Malcolm_Sex a- "I know what you’re thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I’ve kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?”, Harry Callahan, Dirty Harry (1971) b- "You wanna fuck with me? Okay. You wanna play rough? Okay. Say hello to my little friend!", Tony Montana, Scarface (1983) c- "I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse.", Don Vito Corleone, The Godfather (1972) d- "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.", Andy Dufresne, The Shawshank Redemption (1994) e- "Nobody fucks with the Jesus", Jesus Quintana, The Big Lebowski (1998) f- "We're dicks! We're reckless, arrogant, stupid dicks. And the Film Actors Guild are pussies. And Kim Jong Il is an asshole. Pussies don't like dicks, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes: assholes that just want to shit on everything. Pussies may think they can deal with assholes their way. But the only thing that can fuck an asshole is a dick, with some balls. The problem with dicks is: they fuck too much or fuck when it isn't appropriate - and it takes a pussy to show them that. But sometimes, pussies can be so full of shit that they become assholes themselves... because pussies are an inch and half away from ass holes. I don't know much about this crazy, crazy world, but I do know this: If you don't let us fuck this asshole, we're going to have our dicks and pussies all covered in shit!", Gary Johnston, Team America: World Police (2004)

"We're all one thing, Lieutenant. That's what I've come to realize. Like cells in a body. 'Cept we can't see the body. The way fish can't see the ocean. And so we envy each other. Hurt each other. Hate each other. How silly is that? A heart cell hating a lung cell." - Cassie from THE THREE

Are there rules about how long the quote can be? If I want to draft a really long, uninterrupted monologue, is that cool? Or is this a one-sentence sort of deal?
