So i finally watched the final chapter of the great series of documentaries of the west memphis case.
Gotta say, this one may be the best one...it´s divided in 4 chapters with the whole case and it has new footage from those early years that´s really well used.
Lorri Davis appears from the first time in the WM3 story, and their story with Damien is told for the first time here but what i liked about the film is that its really about the trial, the decisions a state made, the way they handle the media and the way the media demonized people.
The WM3 story is so fascinating and haunting that, even with this final chapter where they are released with the alford plea ( jesse says something that really kept me thinking , " when we told them we were innocent they put us behind bars, when we told them we are guilty they set us free") , its pretty open for me until we learn who killed those boys and why.

That's pretty clever for someone who's supposed to be retarded, isn't it?

I hadn't seen the first two parts, but I saw this one and nothing really prepares you for those crime scene photos. That was difficult to see.

Totally agree. I seem to remember part one opened with a ton of crime scene photos and footage and it's really hard to take. It actually kind of brought the level of the film down for me. There's really no reason they couldn't have blurred some of the dead, naked kids. I can't imagine the family being happy with that footage being used and re-used throughout this series.

It's disturbing that there is still no closure on this case. I don't think the WM3's release helped establish their innocence at all, it only proved that there was a mistrial, or that there wasn't enough eveidence to convict them. There is some very fishy stuff with the Hobbs guy and the Byers dude is just a nut.

So crazy that his own family wouldn't let him live with them, for fear of their safety?

That crazy?
