Heard good things about a new Woody Allen movie out now. The main point of my post is what are some Woody movies I should watch to get me into him?

I have seen a couple and really enjoyed them, but its been so long that I cannot remember them.

He sure seems to get a lot of acclaim but gets next to no publicity for his movies and they never play around here. I find all that strange since he seems to always get big name actors.

So what should I go out and rent/buy right now?

Is that the movie with Sean Penn? If so, I have seen that one but didn't realize it was a Woody Allen movie.

Yup. Definitely not a typical Woody Allen movie.

I think that's a really great movie. The recent one (too lazy to search imdb) with the guy from american pie is cool. Watching Woody tearing apart a sports car and talking about violent self-defense is excellent !

Same here. I watched Deconstructing Harry a few weeks ago and really liked it.

Thank you, netflix.

I've seen Annie Hall, Crimes and Misdemeanors, The Purple Rose of Cairo, Scoop, Match Point, and Small Time Crooks.

I can't wait to get through the rest.

Match Point fucking blows.

It's definitely between Manhattan and Annie Hall. Forced to pick I'd go with the latter.
