I've watched four episodes so far. I think it has yet to find a good rhythm. It's weird that the main character is the one that has developed least so far. The casting of the dancers was well done, I think. I'll be looking forward to see what happens to those girls, where their stories go.
I cracked up when Mitchum Huntzberger showed up as the local bar owner. Emily Gilmore is more likeable this time round, but she has those Emily moments too often still (hopefully this will change as the show keeps going). I want to see more of her crazy friend (the one who wanted to do the sculpture for the funeral), she stole the show in the few moments she was on screen.

Agree with most of your impressions thus far, it seemed to pick up a lot of steam as the season rolled along (though the first few episodes of most good shows often seem a little awkward in retrospect). You've got some really good stuff coming up to watch.
I enjoy the steady stream of ex-Gilmore Girls cast members - the shows feel very similar in many ways, but that isn't a particularly unpleasant sensation.
I still have a few episodes left to watch, so that's good. Also, I think I read somewhere that they're going to do a second batch, yeah? That should give them a chance to work a bit more on the characters.
