Anyone else kinda interested in this? A few of my friends said the book was fantastic. Not a huge fan of the Wachowskis. Maybe bringing in a third director could help.

This should get more love around here. Anyone else seen it?
i did and quite liked it. not a perfect movie, but there also isn't anything else like it out there. not many movies have separate sci-fi, epic, period drama, action, quirky comedy threads that combine to tell one story. i thought it was a fascinating watch.
It is fascinating. I think a lot of the negative comments and reviews are focusing too much on plot and how it is "hard to follow" the different stories. But they're missing the point, the focus should be on the themes the different stories explore, and not on keeping track of the links between the different story lines.
i wanted to like it, and thought it was ok, but the wachowski brothers (siblings?) still piss me off with their bullshit. the book is better.

arent the themes the same?
the dialect didnt bug me much, but the rubber old man make up on everyone did to the extent that i had to turn away from the screen at certain points. the old man makeup thing needs to die.
