I have to fight - on a daily basis - not to reference this show. I don't want to ruin it for myself. I don't want to know every word. I want it to surprise me forever. I know that's unrealistic. I'm being overly precious.

But... MAN! I LOVE this show.

Joey, what do you make of the Tuba character? In the early episodes, she seemed to be developing nicely, but as the series progresses, I can't help but think that the writers have squandered her potential. I feel like the Tuba/Baman/Tuba's Dad dynamic could be so much more.

See, the way that Baman responds when he finally comes over in that scene is exactly what I was talking about a few posts ago. There's such a tired mood in his voice. I get the feeling that Baman has been dealing with Piderman's dependent, needy nature for a very long time, and I don't think that he's patient enough to politely deal with it forever. He's clearly starting to crack.

I think it's okay. Tuba can be in the next band.

It's a psychologically dense portwayal, for sure.

I think there are big things to be revealed about Tuba's Dad.

He lives in that strange dimension shown in the Happy Winter Friends episodes, which seems to only be accessible by walking into the mouth of that anthropomorphic pizza that That Guy and The Other Guy seem to be guarding. At the end of the "Revealations Part 2" episode, we see that he has taken one of Baman's fingers for some mysterious purpose. In the most recent episode ("Drink Da Tea"), we see he has some sort of connection to Those Guys, since he appears in their short films (and reacts badly to being recorded). If I had to venture a guess, I'd say he's going to use Baman's finger to clone Baman, with That Guy and The Other Guy being failed clones. For what purpose, I do not know.

Maybe he's going to put a wedding ring on Baman's finger and sew it back onto his hand in some weird tuba marriage ceremony to make an honest tuba out of his daughter. Tuba.
