I actually wrote a new song based around this, if that's not bending the rules too much. I know it's hard to appreciate without the music but it all sort of came together and I figured it was a bit of a muse for me.

All Change

Forms of washed out grey
Between the earth and her sky
All change, all change

Wish what I never said
Wouldn't haunt me again
All change, all change

Siphoned off all the lies
It wasn't just 'night in
My head, my head

In my head I had it sorted
It read right for the part
In my head I cut the silence
All change, all change

Standing slightly exposed
Undressed in my clothes
I felt, all change

In my head I had it sorted
It read right for the part
In my head I cut the silence
All change, all change

You roll your eyes still
smiling, why then so frustrated?
Why then, all change

In my head I had it sorted
It read right for the part
In my head I cut the silence
All change, all change

What did I have to lose?
Still scared of missing it
Should've been my move
Too scared of

All change, you'd make yourself
Suddenly so real
All change, you'd shatter me
Never be that scared again

"walk the same path..."
for the last time
next time
no matter if it's wet or dry,
i'll be gone
moving ahead
on another path

strange
when it comes to change
it's the same things
yet nothing is the same...

throw stale memories away
find memories lost in clutter long ago
sometimes to realize
there's no reason to make them stay

pack a lighter pack
though it's not light enough
to carry on my back

unpack to a bigger space
how long until it becomes
and again ceases to be my place?

I don't think that's a very good prompt.

Well, I wasn't trying to shit on you or anything. I just don't thing one word is prompt enough to get me to write anything interesting. Especially such a vague word. Of course, some probably prefer that vagueness so what do I know.

Thanks for the welcome.

you're welcome :) and about vagueness... you can always take it as a challenge... who knows what you might accomplish?

(i'll give it a shot)

It comes and goes
the only constant we all depend on
like a spring of mist, clear but vague,
forever rinsing the molds off of our soul.
keeps us refreshed with vitalogy,
provides us with enthusiasm and expectation,
of which we can hardly foresee

but might we pollute its source
we will all be washed in black,
until the next day,
the next year,
the next millennium,
when everything would change again

(used a pj phrase, can't think of anything better)
