the first shot is nice. i like the placement of the old man and i love his expression. i'm unsure about the background - i'm a bit distracted by it. it takes up so much of the photo and i can't clearly see anything in it.

second shot is really nice. i love the colours, and it almost looks like the singer is trying to scream out his soul or something. good placement of him, too.

the third shot is better. i like this shot of the old man more. i can see the background, which is nice because it's, again, a large part of the portrait. there's also the nice contrast between the dead plants and an old man.

the fourth shot is nice, but i think it's a little bit cliche. steeple + huge clouds = look at the power of god shot. i do love the large cloud, though. it came out very well - there's a great mix of light and dark in it.

the fifth shot is nice, too. it screams "rural america" to me, but it's probably because i could find this exact spot one hundred times over. the composition is good, though. the road provides a very nice line and i love how huge and overpowering the billboard looks when compared to the cows or buildings.

i don't quite understand the sixth shot. there's a great weight placed upon the grass in this picture, and indeed, it's exposed quite well. i think the bottom third of the grass could be cropped out and the photo would be just as strong if not a bit stronger.

the seventh shot is nice. it reminds me a bit of a shot that i took. it gets a little grainy towards the back of the horizon - maybe that's a dark storm cloud? i don't know. the sky is nice, too.

the eighth shot is fantastic. the clouds are absolutely amazing. the size is incredible, but the exposure is great, too. the shot seems a little dark, but i don't know that it would improved by lightening it up a bit.

the ninth shot is nice, but again, a little grainy. the mirror and raindrops add interest to what would be an otherwise static shot.

the tenth shot is great. it gives me the feeling that it was taken from an airplane. the sky is amazing, though the top left corner is a little dark.

the eleventh shot makes me dizzy. the colours are good, and the sparkle on the water is really nice, especially since the water looks so dingy. the concrete on the left side is a little distracting.

i don't like the twelvth shot. it looks photoshopped and the background is too bright.

i talked to you briefly about the last shot last night. it's beautiful and looks almost like a painting. i love the orange on the hillside and the very slight sunset is really nice.

Thanks y'all. I use a Canon Rebel GII or whatever for most of my pictures. I've also got an old Praktica (or Practika) that I only use occasionally because the light meter doesn't work at all.

I appreciate the critiques, lemoncoatedafterworld. I disagree with pretty much all them. Mostly the composition complaints and the ones that you say are cliched. Like the steeple photo, I don't think it matters if a picture's cliched as long as it looks good. Thanks though.

I've been really interested in photography recently, and think that these shots are great work...I never realized how much work went into making a photo look so well...once again, cool pics!

My computer is being a pain right now, so I've only seen the first five. I really like them. Good work. 8)
