yeah, I hear what yer saying. I don't think i would listen to my own music if I didn't write it.

But I kinda think lots of bands think that way. My favorite bands are Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, and bands of that nature, but my music is like, pop rock.

It's better to use inspiration from, but not rip off, your influences.

However, I should post the cover we did of state of love and trust on Q101 in chicago when we did an interview on there.

it was fun! haha

You interpreted what I said differently than I meant it. If I wasn't writing this kind of music, I wouldn't listen to it.

Doesn't mean I don't love, or listen to incessantly, or rehearse the music I write. I was mearly stating if I wasn't in the band, writing the songs I write, I personally wouldn't listen to my band.

I like what I do and the music I write.

But I mean, if you asked Ed Vedder if he wasn't in Pearl Jam would he listen to a band that sounded like Pearl Jam, you may be suprised when he said he wouldn't.

Not saying that he would. But do you see what I am saying?

i know exactly what you mean. the music that comes to me is not often the music i would listen to, or buy albums with. it chooses me, not the way around. so, i love PJ and DMB and LZ and Block Party and Jeff Buckley and Damien Rice and a lot of punk and a lot of blues but my music is not like any of those, maybe a mélange of all the music i've been listening through my life. i'm very critical about the music that comes through me but that's what i can do, know how to do. would i buy my own album if i had not written the songs? good question, i can't answer it, cause i really don't know.

No, I completely know what you mean. I probably wouldn't buy my record if it was made by someone else. But I still spent countless hours writing the music, slaving over the words, the recordings themselves, and all points in between. I love my music, band, direction and the affect it has on the people who love it as well, and purchase it.

But if I was sitting around, trying to get away for a moment in my life, I probably wouldn't pick a record that sounds like mine
