write something with "the moon shines through the curtain, lacing the floor boards, embroidering the carpet with a new illusion..."

i wake up, it's late dawn
the morning comes
i lay down, as i recall
there's no-one
the night has passed unnoticed
dream of eternity is not very good...

the taste of your mouth is still in mine
the smell of your skin is still in mine
the strength of your body still weakens me
maybe the magic remains

it's just things scattered by life
it's just things out of place
but yet they leave such deep wounds
that don't leave room for time to pass

the scent of your perfume is still in my sheets
the rim of my glass keeps the color of your lips
cigarrete tips cast down on the floor
while a sad song strums my heart

the moon shines through the curtain
lacing the floor boards,
embroidering the carpet with a new illusion...
but how much light does it take
to wash away from the air
words that lurk in the darkness?

it's just things scattered by life
it's just things out of place
but yet they leave such deep wounds
that don't leave room for time to pass

the cold shower will set me free
from the ancient trance that was loving you
the water that runs down my body
takes the last trace of your sweat...

(rough translation of a song written long ago)

Outside the sky is black, clouds hanging dark blue and purple, outside the sky is bruised. The wind's not roaring or howling, it just whispers and breathes through the few leaves left on the barest branches, a couple tugged away as it gathers momentum, picks up speed and pushes the edges of the clouds apart, and a shaft of moonlight pierces the ceiling.

The wind gets stronger as the moon shines through the curtain, lacing the floor boards, embroidering the carpet with a new illusion - it looks like a bat, hovering in space, terrifying. Looking back out the window it's just a bird, pushing and pushing its wings down with all its might as it tries to force itself up, struggling into the wind, climbing, climbing, until it's above the wind and carried away, and the wind that carries brings back the cloud, brings back the bruise.

Did you just think of these lines or did you get them from somewhere?

me? the prompts? i generally think of them, or take them from songs i write. originally it was in portuguese and it was the sun, not the moon, and a few changes were made for the sake of translation.

"o sol pela janela vai rendando nosso chão
bordando no tapete uma nova ilusão..."

Cool. :) So you don't mind if I use some or all of the lines for any of my lyrics? I did think of something from one of your prompts. It's not my best writing, I don't think but I'm very critical sometimes, but I'll post it I think in the appropriate thread.

I like what you guys have written. Here's something I've written. These last two posts are the only time I've ever shared any of my lyrics on here. Don't know why I didn't before. I guess I feel like someone will think I'm boasting whether it's good or not. :?

Truth In the Symmetrical

The moon shines through the curtain
Lacing the floor boards with what’s uncertain
Embroidering the carpet with a new illusion
And two bodies in a physical fusion
Searching for a heart beating in time
Looking for the truth in each symmetrical line
Of the form next to her tonight

If his mind can stay his body will follow
If he can drown, he’ll drown in her
She’s never been living in the shallow
And if he needs faith it can be her
She would never preach falsely to him
Her love is a knot that can’t be untied
He is not man enough for her he sighs
Insecurities can end a love before it begins
Devil on your shoulder, call it what you will, it’s a sin
Look for yourself with eyes wide open
Possibilities are endless with the answer to your question

And don’t you know if it started over she would love you again
She was told it’s not living without pain
He believes it in his heart -- a true solitary man
He’ll take the pain without the happiness of this woman
She knows that every side can be two-fold
They could grow together be happy and old

Searching for a heart beating in time
Looking for the truth in each symmetrical line
Of the form next to her tonight
If his mind can stay his body will follow
If he can drown, he’ll drown in her
She’ll be his life vest at each uncertain turn
Never waver, never change
Even caught within his moody ways

And she was told it’s not living without pain
He believes it in his heart -- a true solitary man
He can't find the truth in any symmetrical plan
No, he won't allow it
That's his kind of stance
