National novel writing month. I heard Deanna talk about it and I signed up today. The deal is you get until November 30th to write 50000 words.

I've got 49186 left.

BTW, I used the search tool and nothing came up, but I swear I've seen this thread before. Oh well.

i refuse to check my word count for the remainder of the evening. i think i'm also going to change the margins or something in my document so it looks longer. i'm a bit sad that i'm only on my ninth page of text. :x

Why wouldn't you just type out "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." and just copy and paste it until you've got 50,000?

because "all work and no play makes jack a dull boy" makes for a terribly boring novel.

Speak for yourself.

And remember, it's quantity, not quality that counts.

I didn't know anything about this, but I've been pushing a manuscript with some agents who are interested. I'm on page 70 is all, but it's the best writing of my life. It's a kind of Ishmael for the state of education in America/the post-industrial world.
