this one is for a friend. she is going through a rough time, and for whatever reason she has completely cut herself off from me. which has left me kind of depressed as well. this is about me saying, hey, get your shit together and lets get through this. i tried to keep a theme of moving from the dark into light as to give it an optimistic outlook.



Daybreak

stop saying that youre tired,
dont tell me that youre done.
theres no time to slow down yet,
though dark clouds obscure the sun.
rest will come later,
(thats if it comes at all...)
we're in this one together.
i'm right below you should you fall.

but for now its by your side i stand
so open your eyes, take my hand,
and hold on fucking tight.
we'll make it out of here because
there's no such thing as an endless night.

the weapons that we wield
can be turned on ourselves
its better, though, to leave such thoughts
in their drawers, on their shelves.
take your time and think,
(but dwell not on an end)
the daybreak is in store for us
it's waiting off around the bend.

also, any feedback would be appreciated. i feel like its pretty straightforward, but when its your own work its easy to be blind to its vagueness.
