i know this is more than slightly off topic but i was kinda scared of launching it at GD. the thing is, i’ll be going to the British islands for vacation next August/September, so i’d really appreciate some hints on places to stay and things to do. i’ll be in London from August 17th to 23rd. then Dublin and Belfast. then i’ll go to Scotland, travel north from Glasgow to Oban and Fort William, come down maybe to the Isle of Skye and finally Inverness (30). then through the Valley of Spey (the whisky circuit) to Stirling and finally Edinburgh (October 1st), for the last days of the Festival until October 5th. i’m traveling with some acquaintances and mostly backpacking. it’s the first time i travel like that and i confess i’m a little concerned, so any suggestions are welcome.
