you're sitting on the edge of your bed, in the corner of your room. and you're looking out the window at trucks, cars, deliverymen, drunks and homeless people passing north on the avenue just three flights down. a bird sits in the ledge outside, your cat on the other edge of your bed wishing it could jump through glass.

the room is dim. a lamp is lit on the other side of the room, but provides only light that escapes from it being purposefully directed into a corner. the music playing is acoustic, mellow, melancholy, bluesy.

you light your neatly packed bowl and it delivers a hit that slaps you in the face like none of the other 6 drags have taken so far. you realize what has just happened ... you've taken the hit.

immediately, you smile.

you proceed to hold it in for a few seconds then get that tingly feeling all over as you release your most pleasureful hit out the window, into free air.

and you relax. and everything is ok in the world.
