nice work. i especially like this one. what did you do to get the harsh contrast between black and white? it kind of reminds me of the photography on Sigur Ros' ( ) album.

I presume these are all dark room processed and that you played with some filters to get the contrast on the 'contrast tree?' Good stuff, although the one of the house seems a bit overexposed. Was this intentional? Not complainin'--just curious.

yep. i played with the filters to get the contrast really high. i stuck in the highest filter and left it on for far longer than i normal do...a minute, i think.

the farmhouse was shot on a slightly snowy gray day. it was hard to print. i was more concerned with the wooden boards and the wreath on the door than getting the grass exactly right.

Ah. I had forgotten that snow is hard to take pictures (and consequently make prints of) and the picture didn't make me think about it. But it seems you accomplished what you wanted.

Why did you pose your cat with a pineapple?

I mentioned going on the Haunted Pub Crawl in Wilmington, NC. http://www.theskyiscrape.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18867
Here are a couple of pics I took on the tour.

You can see the guide on the left (yes, he was wearing zebra stripes) being obscured by .... by ... something.

This was outside where a slave was killed trying to escape to the North.

A few more shots from our garden:

Image
A very social dragonfly - it kept coming back to the same bush each time I got too close with the camera and scared it away.

Image
A freshly painted basket (which you can't see, but oh well...)

Image
I put the snail on the trunk for a lilttle photo session.

Image
This nice green buggy ( :) ) was resting on our yuka.

These are all film and I recently found the scans this evening...

This one's (looking east across Fort Worth) under exposed, but that's the beauty of a Holga.
Image

Another one with the Holga--no photoshopping done, except for resizing.
Image

Lastly, Frog Fountain at TCU, at night. All I did was keep the shutter open and shook the tripod.
