And God blinked,
And the stars aligned, kissed,
And threw back their heads.
The orbit stopped - a brief hiccup.
With a slouching of the shoulders
The world shuffled forwards,
Wider eyed -
A step ahead of the game.
With pulsating urgency,
Electronic spontaneity.
Laced with grace,
Orchestrated with charm,
The buildings stooped,
Corners rounded,
The grounds softened,
And the people were in tune.

Harmony.

It was brief,
But we all felt It.

Machinery was sleeping,
The airwaves were breathing.
The streetlights flickered in rhythms
Creating the most beautiful shapes -
Dancing, guised as shadows
On the faces of nearby houses.
The sun was overlooking,
Calm…
It tip-toed closer,
And cart-wheeled through the streets,
And spun us by the arm until we were
Dizzy and stumbled into a lover’s grasp.
And we laughed,
Raised our glasses,
And danced some more.

They were tricks of the light
(We all knew),
We’d gotten lucky
('A jolt in the system' - they said),
But we felt more real than
We’d ever been -
In the flash of an eyelid:
A symphony in secret,
A hopeless
Dream.

incredible.

the title and opening line two of my favorites ever. the imagery that progresses after that is perfect.

and then the ending:

In the flash of an eyelid:
A symphony in secret,
A hopeless
Dream.

absolutely love it.

Really inspiring; heartfelt without being saccharine.

beautiful. it flows. not even one cliche, you have a good eye for things and a way with words.
