This is my latest bands first recording. At the moment it's comprised of two guitarists and a singer...the equipment used was pretty limited - just a beat up 8 track recorder, fairly cheap mics, and small amp...but it somehow kinda suited the feel of the song we were going for. I wrote the words and music for this one (used an old poem i had for the basis), and i play the guitars in the center and right speaker of the recording. The other guitarist plays the guitars panned left, and the singer does all the vocals.

Sure:
*radio* Stained with coffee, Warm, dizzy, drunk and beaten The moon sits up high Watching over winter streets Where newspaper skin Soaks to the bones of a Yellow-eyed man Awaiting. Unforgiving of all this, Accepting of all this, Pale as the moon he crawls To the beat of the snow fall And, wilted, he counts down his days And waltzes away…
Punctured and swollen, Bruised but forever fighting The moon is alone Singing for everyone (But) raising their glasses Warm, dizzy, high and hopeful Two lovers eloped Away from it all. An exception to this The world spins on their axis To the sound of a sparrow call Or the beat that the snow falls They lose themselves in gentle sway And then waltz away
(But) The burning white embers They help you to remember That we are not alone in this Spinning against the axis à jamais, luttant comme la lune Together in tune We all waltz away...

Iceage! Awesome song man!
I'm sure your singer has been told a thousand times that his voice sounds exactly like Colin's from The Decemberists.
Love the lead guitar in this song and how it fills in where he's not singing. It came together really well. Very impressed.
Hey welaughindoors, thanks a lot
I love The Decemberists, but i don't think our singer's ever actually listened to them, ha. They're also not very big in England at all, so you're actually the first to make the comparison....i'll let him know though, i see it as a compliment.
