A good horizon is sometimes enough. It is the last beer to the gasping barfly, It is your lover’s breast gently pressing On your side as you sleep Beneath the stars, It is a dog’s sympathetic tongue Licking the side of your face From chin to cheek. Yes, yes, yes, When the angles are right The sky will own us all whole: Maroon, blue, gold, emerald green... Yes, yes, It is the chemistry, The biology, The shadows, The subtleties, The scorches... Burning and breeding, And you can’t help but fall back A few paces and say "aah!" Yes, It is in these times that even The peacocks retreat - They can’t compare, They don’t mind. They just smile and lounge.
Sometimes the beauty radiates, And, it is all interpretation, But it is so much more than interpretation... And the cynics will say We’re just a sucker for Pretty colours, But, hey – We must take What we can get.
