Do you go to SUNY Binghampton? I know someone on the basketball team.
I spent a weekend there one time when I was in college.

Yup, I'm starting my senior year later this month. I actually did camerawork on a bunch of the basketball games last year for the campus TV station.

These are great. Would love to see more if these are any indication of how good the others are.

yes, but I processed these myself in photoshop rather than photomatix. The others I'm going to post were done in photomatix.

Beautiful, Flips. I think I like the vertical ones best. Last week I went up to Mount Greylock, the highest peak in Massachusetts although not quite as high as your pics . . . and I drove

This is called the Cliff Walk, in Newport, RI. It was in the lower 40s and people were surfing.
Image
the walk follows alongside Salve Regina University, which consists of old beautiful mansions throughout the entire campus. I was accepted here and this could've been my view everyday but instead I went to wonderful western New York.
Image
I also spent a day on Massachusetts' north shore. this is called Manchester-by-the-sea

It's cliche, but when you're in Rockport ya gotta take a picture of motif #1

and Mount Holyoke College

Cheers, I prefer the vertical ones as well, and trust me, if I could've drove up there I would've done!

The camera was in a rucksack that whenever we stopped I managed to get it out quickly and fire off a few snaps, would've liked more time to really get my settings and composition better, but overall pretty happy with the shots, especially the pano, I'll be printing it out at work tomorrow, 22" x 70"

Finally managed to upload a bigger version of the pano

I'm reviving this thread because you guys all take such amazing shots, and I want to see them again. 62strat's sunset photo that he posted in the Photo Album thread has been my desktop since he first put it up. Here are some I took two nights ago, but I'm really just bumping here to get others to start posting their own photos again.

I tried posting in here one time but the code Flickr gave me didn't work. I finally figured out how to do it but it's kind of a pain in the ass.

so this is a pretty great thread. stumbled in here out of boredom.

i'm impressed.

Me too!

I've been meaning to get back into photography, this is definitely stoking that fire. I sort of dipped my toe in a bit in my late teenage years but got out of the habit as time went on, my daughter being born has really made me want to pick it up as a hobby again.

What cameras are you guys using? Digital SLR's? It's been a long time for me, any recommendations would be wonderful.

dscans - your shots are just gorgeous.

I use a Nikon D40 SLR. It's the low-end Nikon but I'm quite happy with it. I haven't checked in a while but I think prices of SLRs have come down quite a bit and you can probably get a pretty good deal if you shop around.
Good luck and be sure to post your shots in here.
