So, I spent the late 80's and early 90's in a Classic Rock cover band. Lead guitarist type. Skinny, drunk, what have you. At some point I decided to start writing. I tried to emulate the stuff we were playing, and some and that is quite evident in what I'm posting.

Most of this stuff is, pretty much, dead to me. I don't think I care enough to finish anything. I've started going elsewhere with writing. But, I figured, what the hell.

Some of the drum loops are way too hot in the mix. I like to blame my old monitors, instead of my lack of mixing ability.

Note: I added weblinks due to the trouble people reported with the direct mp3 links.

I like the guitars in this one, but as mentioned, the drums are too hot.

F3. Kinda happy with this one. The chorus get real muddy, though.

Had help with this one, too.

Just noodled over the progression in this one.

I like the progression in this one. It's long, and without vocals you do not need to listen to the until the end.

I did this because of RM user, Raziel. He posted a progression and said, have at it. This is what I heard.

F4, I've posted these, I think. Two takes for the bonfire.

This one is more recent. Just an idea.

This was with help from Seagate.

Awesome stuff! I love the tone of your guitar, and the playing is just ridiculous. Move to Omaha and make a record with me, kthnx.

Thanks! If I'm ever anywhere near Omaha, I'm inviting myself over to make that record.

Thank you.

I've been only concerned with guitar work for too long. I'm trying to start writing songs with more than guitars in mind. I'm slowly getting my voice in shape but I still struggle with lyrics.

Again, thanks for the listen.

The links should work now, hill. I think I screwed the shit up by removing a file or two. Not sure why that would change the links, but I think it might have.

That sucks. Somehow, I can still download them using those links. Anyway, if you still wanna give a listen, I put a few of them up at Megaupload.

That's cool, Mr. Hill.
I do not make you sound like shit, though. Don't get your hopes up, fag.

well, let me begin by saying i started playing the first track and my daughter asked if that was me. i told her yes and she said, wow! you've gotten really good. SO FUCK YOU :)

anyway, i did tell her the truth.

in summation, the first song was unbelievably awesome. the guitar work makes me want to be a homosexual groupie or something. it has kind of inspired me to write lyrics for it. do any exist already?

i also really like interludes. sounds like it could be a great album closer.

echo22 could be the prelude to some kind of hard ass metal jam.

all in all, this is some impressive work. you did make me sound like shit. i'm still going to write lyrics for the first song. i don't give a shit if you like it or not :haha:

i bow to your awesomeness. oh, and mcparachute pants is supposed to be posting my latest song on this forum tomorrow. See what you think.

Cory

Thanks, dea.

Found these on an old hard drive. Thought I'd share. Written years ago.

Empty Bottle is really badass. I kept waiting for a Michael Stype/David Gilmour duet to jump in.
