christy and i set on off
up a path we hadnt been before
we werent quite lost
but we didnt know exactly where we were

an' after a bit we realized
shit, we're in deep crap
we didnt have a scrap of food
and sure as shit didnt have a map

we walked for a while, aimlessly
an' we happened upon a horse
he was traveling by himself
and was more prepared than us, of course
well i offered him a cig,
and we all had a smoke
christy and i laughed for several hours
like the whole thing was a joke

we came to a crossroads
an' we faced a difficult choice
he said "fuck it, we oughtta go left"
i was taken aback at the sound of his voice
turns out his name is elliott
an' he says hes from east troy
he learned everything about traveling
from his dad back when he was a boy

"im going to that town, just beyond the mountains" he said.
"i just have to find a way through"
an' christy and i, well our eyes lit up
cause thats where we were headed, too.
