Recently I found an old notebook of mine. I wrote this song when I was 18.
As I recall, I played it for the guys and the singer said "Sounds like a fucking Go-Go's song. Do I look like Belinda fucking Carlisle?" Obviously he was talking about the music because lyrically it was way better than any goddamn Go-Gos tune. To wit:
I'm sittin' in a chair five miles in the sky we'd all have wings if we were meant to fly they tell me it's safer than driving my car but when I'm driving my car the ground's never that far away
Chorus Well that's a long long way to fall and If I had any say at all they'd hand me a parachute at the gate so I could jump before it's too late
My knees are shaking I can barely talk If i tried to stand up I couldn't even walk give me that bag my jaw is saggin' next time I travel think I'll go by wagon train
Chorus
Well the skies don't seem so friendly to me the pilot's so drunk he can barely see and if the plane don't crash you're still not safe the food they serve you will kill you anyway
Chorus
repeat Chorus
