So, this guy filmed our band at a show a few weeks ago and put it on YouTube.

There you go.

I'm the fat guy playing bass on the far right. It was really stinking hot this night, I'm probably sweatier and (even) grosser than usual, so bear that in mind.

Here's a rough demo of that song, in case you were vaguely interested: http://www.mediafire.com/?duei9uy966h74ok

so much to say
so much to say
prefering being the voice of the enigma
that transcended space and time
the savior the light
we have but to come together yet
i have gone through this life
with nothing
only to redeem past mistakes
to show you the light
of the violators
we are still safe
i threw all the nightmares down the drain
for if they dont listen
it will still be our freedom
have no fear
my loves
my life
for you
your safety
my hell
we will flip smoothly through
I cannot help for the evils who made such
disgusting paradoxes did it my name
under my code

Imy purest path through these hells
will shed light
alll will fall into place
Im always yours
together for
it is written

I guess I understand what your singer is trying to do, but he sounds really... fucking terrible to me. I'm sorry for not finding a nicer way to express this, but to me, he sounds really annoying. Maybe he could try to sing stuff a little clearer and with a little more breath? Or just... a little less squeaky.

The song itself is pretty cool, nice groove. You don't look as gross as I hoped you would from your description. What's behind the choice to use a plectrum instead of playing with your fingers?

Also, and that's the last thing... I guess I'd try to change stuff up a bit more as the song goes along? I liked the part where it was bass and drums only, I guess there could be more of that or something, maybe just bass without all those crashes, just thrown in there once in a while to keep the song interesting. Then again, maybe that's just a personal preference of mine, who knows :P

Aaaanyway. Cool video, cool song. Please don't mind me being such a horrible critic.

Our bassist put a few videos up on YouTube because someone asked him too. One is the studio version of the above ditty, so here:

i liked this but i'll have to go with Raziel about your singer. his mannerisms put me off the songs. again, i liked the last one you posted. it's an original waltz for sure but maybe it needed a few surprises or escapes out of the original key to sustain the interrest. maybe it's just the vocals that are making it seem longer than it is. anyway, great riff, good musicianship, thanks for sharing!

Excellent music, Spence. It sounds really sinister and demented, but yeah, the singing...

Thanks, guys!

Yeah, I love the singing, by the way. It sounds exactly like it's meant to.

I wonder what you guys would think of the one where I sing...

I like this song a hell of a lot too. Nigel probably sings with less mannerisms on this one; it's definitely a conscious choice on Little Girl Gone.

I really liked "Isobel's Sacrifice" a lot, Spenno. I took advantage of the free download.

Hopefully this comes across the right way, but you make music that perfectly reflects your tastes.

Its easier to listen to the studio tracks. That live video in the OP is a little too harsh for my tastes. But the artwork and title for your album is fucking cool, Spencer. Great title and great visual to go along with it. Isobel's Sacrifice is also pretty good. I like the compression on your snare and how it fits in with the rest of the mix, particularly the guitars. Neat.

I think the live version is a little slower than the studio version, and he goes off the rails a little more. I think the faster tempo of the studio version makes it more pungent and accented, which works pretty well for this track. That's my theory, anyway. I am calling it the Big Band Theory.

Not...really, though sort of.

Only generally on Little Girl Gone (and a few other songs). I'm mainly the guitarist, though when I first joined the band it was as the drummer. Now that our (most of the time) bassist has moved overseas, I might end up playing bass more often.

I play all of the guitars on Team 3, for what it's worth.
