3 guys chat for years on a music website, they become comfortable with each other and decide to meet up in Alabama. It's awkward at first with stares and glances while trying to remember what you actually thought each other looked like. The host of the shindig takes you all to chick-fil-a and talks about his failures at love to the girl at the library across the road. Upon leaving the chicken joint another guy suggests having a few drinks at the truck stop about a mile down the road. 2 of the 3 were eager to go but the host was a bit apprehensive because he does not drink. They take it into consideration but basically say, "fuck you, Larry" we're going. As they drive down the road passing the community college they all decide to stop and hit golf balls into the dormatories. They finally reach the truck stop and order jamesons and a 1 sweet tea. venturing out back they notice all the truck drivers playing lawn darts under the moonlight. Larry begins to relax due to the smell of freshly planted fescue and 2 new friends and decides to start drinking. Months pass and Larry still thinks about that night. He drives past the college and the truck stop every friday night while listening to Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street.

He's got this dream about buyin' some land
He's gonna give up the booze and the one night stands
And then he'll settle down, in some quiet little town
And forget about everything

But you know he'll always keep movin'
You know he's never gonna stop movin'
Cause he's rollin', he's a rollin' stone
And when you wake up it's a new morning
The sun is shining, it's a new morning
But you're going, you're going home

Doug, not only is that the best idea I've read in a long time, it's also the best post I've read in a long time. Sure you're not a writer?

Turns out, I don't need you fuckers' help. I already got an idea. A good one! It involves a toilet and the fact that ducks have three eyelids. Sooooooo....

Gail drops the needle of their Thorens TD-165 down on side two as soon as Joe gets started on the dishes. She put a good part of her soul into that nice dinner of pork chops and potatoes while Joe was finishing some paperwork at the office, and then watched as he quietly polished the plate off in five, yes five, bites. Just as Ol' Tom really starts hitting his stride during "Better Off Without a Wife," Gail silently begins to cry while looking towards an oblivious Joe, who is at the sink, washing dishes more out of a sense of duty than selfless love.

Gail sat at the park, watching the children. Tiny hands playing in sand. The distinct sound of a child's flesh clinging, then squealing in joy when momentum takes hold on the slide. A mother breastfed one child and cautioned two others on proper playground etiquette. Gail spotted a 4-year-old girl playing by herself on the swings. The sun backlit the child, creating an orange glow around her. Gail reached in her purse, retrieved another Vicodin, then downed it without water. She quietly made her way over to the swings. Across the park, a boy's awkward fall on the jungle gym caused a 30-something dad to drop his iPhone while coming to the rescue. As he comforted his son, a pained look came over his face as he scanned the sand for his phone. The child wailed and as Gail watched, she mouthed, "It's gonna be OK." As the boy's crying grew louder, Gail pulled the 4-year-old girl out of the swing, then ran to her car. Joy filled her heart as she buckled the child into the safety seat. Gail stopped to taste the moment. She ran her fingers through the child's hair, then kissed her on the cheek. The salt from the child's tears stung Gail's lips and the moment grew sour.
