what's wrong where you live? tell me your stories, here's mine

it rained last night. lots of rain.
much of it ended up on the area rug in the kitchen.
some of it ended up in an old pot I placed on the rug after hearing the water landing on my poor, defenseless little area rug.
I can't wait to see what 3 feet of snow build up on the roof is going to do to this place by about March next year.

I'm currently accepting cash offers to assist in getting out of this shack of a house and into somewhere more... weather proof?

dougrr? matty? anyone? :/

share in my misery, everyone.

make a change at this point in your life. You're old like me but havent been west of Omaha. You're smart and probably know head hunters within your industry to get you out of the cold and closer to the sunny beaches out west to live out the rest of your life in comfort and no fear of gully washers.

when I first moved into this house, the carpets were sticky.
not just dirty - sticky - I shampooed them three times in a row before feeling comfortable walking around barefoot.
the first two passes the water from the machine was black.

I was thinking North Carolina would be nice - I loved the Outer Banks but of course they always get clobbered by hurricanes...

Cali's expensive, doug, and I'm a person of simple means - anywhere affordable out there??

Carolina is nice but having to worry about hurricanes is like me worrying about earthquakes..ya they may happen but dont let it stop you. plenty of affordable places out here, it just depends upon your wants and needs..my wants are great weather and I dont need more than 800 sq ft.

the kimchi in Gardena far outweighs the kimchi in koreatown and it's closer to the beach

it's funny, most of the people who live here that I know aren't from MA... and neither am I.

I have some relatives in California, almost as rich as you, maybe I can hit them up for help. How big is Santa Monica? I know nothing about California

malice if you moved to NC we would be neighbors. If the hurricane heads north, you could come down south to our house, and if it heads towards me, well you get the idea. If it is big enough a hurricane we could all head inland to B's house.

I'm with you until the whole heading inland to B's house.

also, I hear I'd get along famously with your wife...

Santa Monica is probably only about 80-90k population but it is LA county and sits right on the beach. It's just north of Venice Beach.
