Jarmusch had a cool quote about this, lemme find it..
ok..
"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to." — Jim Jarmusch

Notice the difference between the Jarmusch quote and Godard quote he quotes. It reminds me of this Picasso quote "Art is the elimination of the unnecessary."

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.

Albert Einstein said it all. For as much of a genius in math and science that he was, his greatest gift to the world is his ability to express himself with language:
"A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving..."- Albert Einstein
"Few people are capable of expressing, with equanimity, opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions."- Albert Einstein
"The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science..." -Albert Einstein
"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution."- Albert Einstein
"I have always believed that Jesus meant by 'the Kingdom of God', the small group scattered all through time of intellectually and ethically valuable people."- Albert Einstein
and of course...
"The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law..."- Albert Einstein

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."

True but you hate black people.
Some of them, but this quote is not MLK.
