I didn't see the MTV Real World reference, so it read to me like a jab at my age. I'm not up on all the posts under the sun in RM, so I must apologize for my misread.

:oops:

Give me some time to black out last names.

*edit -- I don't know how to get a post string that long on to one image. Jorge does though. PM him.

So my mom decided to post one of her three paragraph 'mom' posts. Only problem is that it is telling everyone that her and my dad, me, my wife and kid, and my brother and his wife are all going out of town this weekend. Hope all her friends' security settings are in order. :/

I just feel like it is saying to everyone;

"Hello, all these houses will be empty. Come take what you like."

Yeah, you're supposed to not post when you're out of town or your kids' names or right after you banged your wife.

What do her friends' security settings have to do with anything?

I don't know. It all seems like friends of friends might be able to read it or something.

That depends on your mom's privacy settings first, then on those of everybody she tagged.

Why don't you just explain to your mom the do's and don't of facebook in terms of security? It's ok to talk about a vacation, it's not ok to get that specific about what houses will be empty and when.

Me and my brother have both had a talk with her about stuff. How she posts, comments, etc. I may just tell her I'm getting rid of my facebook account and defriend her.

I wouldn't really do that Pete, jeez. I will just continue to get irritated with her and tell her not to write so much on FB.

So i'm tired of facebook but want to keep using Spotify. Anyway to get around this? Could I conceivably block my whole friends list and keep using Spotify? Maybe I could create a fake account but that seems like a lot of trouble and since I already have Spotify on my computer I prefer an alternative to that. Any ideas?
